Quality Recycling Ltd. is one of the leading household waste and recycling companies in the South East and Tipperary. This is a very active role working on a busy picking line and conducting general yard duties as required. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team in a varied yard-based role with scheduled weighbridge cover responsibilities.
Role Overview
This is a hands-on, outdoor role combining yard operative duties with scheduled weighbridge cover. The successful candidate must be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions and confident using basic computer systems.
Working Hours
Standard working hours will fall within:
- 6:00am – 4:00pm
- 8:00am – 6:00pm (Tuesday & Friday)
Weighbridge Cover Requirements
- Tuesday & Friday: 4:00pm – 6:00pm
- Every Bank Holiday Saturday: 6:00am – 6:00pm (Saturday rate applies)
Occasional annual leave cover on Weighbridge during the week
When working the Bank Holiday Saturday shift, one weekday shift will be adjusted to ensure contracted weekly hours of 46.25 hours are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Yard Duties
- General yard maintenance and housekeeping
- Cleaning the yard using a road sweeper and manual sweeping
- Washing and preparing empty bins for customer reuse
- Grass cutting and maintaining the site grounds
- Assisting the maintenance team with ad hoc duties
- Ensuring the yard remains clean, safe, and organised at all times
Weighbridge Cover
- Operating the weighbridge during designated cover times
- Recording vehicle weights accurately
- Inputting data into the computer system
- Issuing relevant documentation
- Communicating clearly with drivers and site staff
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures
Skills & Experience Required
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically fit and capable of manual work
- Basic computer literacy
- Good level of English (spoken and written)
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
